Match report Having lost the toss and put in to bat on a spongy wicket. Sloughs openers Omer Siddique (29) and Saad Khan(12) set about the task with good effect, sharing in a 38 run partnership on a difficult wicket before the later departed having played on. Omer was then joined by inform batsmen Ali Ahmed (21) who batted with great control until he was adjudged lbw (one of nine lbws in the game). Slough then lost the remaining 8 wickets for 81 runs with Sharath Jetty (29) and Ali Baig (19) showing any resistance. A total of 141 at this point looked well below par but in affect proved to much for Chalfont St Peters as they succumbed to the wizardry of Ikhlaq Nawaz who returned match winning figures of 7-34 in 13.4overs. Ikhlaq was well supported by debutant u16 Abdul-Moqeet Khawar who returned figures of 2-11 in 6 over's. Chalfont's last pair offered their best resistance with a 65 run partnership between R. Mughal (33 no) and S. Saleem before man of the match Ikhlaq bowled S. Saleem (36). Giving Slough their third successive win and maintaining top spot in div 3b.
Slough captain Abbas Bhatti said "141 was a below par score but having had 5 lbws in our innings I knew it was going to be a very difficult wicket to bat on as long as we bowled with discipline and wicket to wicket. The opening bowlers both responded brilliantly with both picking up wickets in their opening overs. Ikhi (Ikhlaq Nawaz) bowled superbly bagging 7 wickets and was well supported by Debutant u16 Abdul-Moqeet who stepped up to the mark and bowled with a great deal of maturity and control taking 2 wickets for 11 runs in 6 overs. The last pair for Chalfont defiantly made us work hard for that all important 10th wicket but the ever reliable Ikhlaq didn't disappoint!. A brilliant start to the season for us and hopefully we can carry this form throughout the season "
