Congratulations Asif on winning the Berkshire Coach of the Year Award -2023

Asif Iqbal, Our Youth Co-ordinator and Coach, has been honoured with the prestigious Berkshire Coach of the Year Award 2023. This honour acknowledges Asif's outstanding contributions to our youth cricket and an individual that goes the extra mile and is a true hero at our club and wider community.

Asif has truly revolutionised our club's approach to junior cricket with a focus on both individual skill development and team strategy. Asif has helped to create a well-rounded team that excels in all department of the game. Under Asif's leadership, our Girls and Boys sections have seen consistent improvement.

Asif has managed the colts section with 250 colts this year. But numbers only tell part of the story. The impact he's had on each individual, nurturing their unique skills and boosting their confidence.

Doubled the participation rate of girls in the club within a single year.
Established the club’s first-ever Women's hardball team, breaking 175 years of tradition.
Guided our U15 Girls' team to the ECB National Final, providing them an opportunity to play at the prestigious Lord's Cricket Ground.
Captured the Berkshire championship across multiple age groups (Girls U13, GirlsU15, and GirlsU18) in 2023.
Led the Girls U13 team to the Group Semi-final in the ECB National T20.

Slough Cricket Club congratulates Asif for this massive achievements and privileged to have such a leader who is adamant to take our youth section to the next level through his commitment and hard work.
