Chairman's Message 2023

Nitesh Seth30 Jan 2023 - 11:04

A message from the Chairman ahead of the 2023 season...

Dear Member,

Thank you for participating in the recently concluded AGM and your participation to discuss various topics on the floor of the AGM. This AGM was historic considering for the first time in 174 years of Slough CC's existence, women full members participated in this democratic process. I am confident that we will have more women cricketers in leadership roles in the coming years.

We are in a very challenging environment worldwide and in the UK as you all know, but cricket we love will help us to address those challenges in a positive way. I am a firm believer that cricket is not just a sport, but a living lesson for how we should live our life. There is a saying that life is full of ups and downs, but cricket makes you realise that there are more downs in life than ups. Even when we have a good day by scoring runs or taking wickets, it's momentary and doesn't guarantee you a success the following day. During this ups and downs, what remains constant is our preparation and approach to tackle those challenging times with teamwork, commitment and being balanced and humble.

We still have 3 months before the season starts, but our preparation for the season should start in winter and we are providing facilities supporting your preparation. I know you are all busy in your day to day life, but the preparation in winter is vital for you and your team to be successful in summer and request you all to attend the winter sessions and make use of the facilities we provide.

We will be having our first committee meeting focussed on agreeing our collective objectives for 2023 in the coming week and focus will be to address some of the key challenges we are facing as the club. If you have any challenges that we need to consider and suggested solutions please don't hesitate to contact me(chairman@sloughcc.co.uk) or any members of the committee. Also the committee and I need your support as we are all in this together and don't hesitate to come forward and support the club in whichever way you can.

I am truly honoured to be serving you and the club I love as the Chairman and I would like to make a promise that I will fulfil this role with all honesty and integrity and always try to make positive changes on the matter concerning our club's progress.

Best wishes,

Goutham Shrikrishna.
