Vision

Our vision for Slough Cricket Club's Junior Program is to establish a world-class initiative that serves as a foundational pillar for the club's enduring success. We are committed to prioritizing player development and inclusivity, while also nurturing a lifelong passion for cricket in each young athlete. Beyond that, we aim to be a talent pipeline, providing well-rounded players capable of representing county and national sides.

Strategies:

Talent Identification and Development:

  • Collaborate with local schools and community to promote cricket in early age .
  • Develop a year-round coaching program focused on technical skills, game strategies , and physical fitness.
  • Introduce specialized coaching for different aspects of the game (batting, bowling, fielding and game planning).

Inclusivity and Diversity:
  • Offer subsidised or reduced fees for talented players from underprivileged backgrounds.
  • Run All Stars and Dynamos Cricket aimed at attracting children who have never played cricket before.
  • Create an inclusive environment that welcomes players of all genders, ethnicities, and skill levels.

Community Engagement:
  • Organize community cricket events to raise the profile of the sport.
  • Build partnerships with local businesses for sponsorship opportunities.
  • Engage with parents and families through regular updates, workshops, and social events

Sustainability:
  • Recruit and train volunteers to help with coaching, administration, and event management.
  • Develop a sustainable financial model through membership fees, sponsorships, and grants.
  • Conducting a range of training programs in collaboration with the county board to equip volunteers for roles as future managers, coaches, umpires, or scorers.
