3. Pathway to Open Age Cricket

Slough CC is esteemed for its meticulous approach to incorporating Junior players into our Adult cricket teams, ensuring a safe, rewarding experience for our younger talents and a positive impact on the club as a whole. our pathway programme is designed for players that have genuine potential or do perform to a high level in a competitive environment.

  • All our U15 and U13 players who are county representatives are registered to play in both Saturday and Sunday leagues.
  • On Saturdays, where the level of play tends to be more competitive, we field seven teams. Team selection is primarily merit-based; however, in our Slough Academy team, we reserve eight positions explicitly for our colts .
  • The team selection process for our Academy team is mainly conducted through Play-Cricket and Pitchero and is overseen by a selection committee every Tuesday evening. Players are expected to confirm their availability by no later than Monday of each week. If for any reason your availability changes, please inform the team captain as soon as possible.
  • Most matches are local to the county, so we strongly recommend that parents arrange transportation for their children. If you encounter any difficulties with transportation, please communicate your needs to the team captain.
  • Rest assured, our team captains and vice-captains are DBS verified and are capable of handling any safeguarding issues that may arise.

We kindly request that parents refrain from engaging with the captain about batting or bowling order during the matches. If you have any concerns or queries, please address them respectfully with the captain either before or after the game.
